Female athletes
Women in sport face unique pressures. From managing transitions between performance levels, to navigating confidence and balancing sport with study, work, or family life.
The mental demands placed on female athletes are immense. Female athletes often experience additional criticism (especially when in a male-dominated environment), gender-specific expectations, and emotional pressures that can influence both performance and wellbeing.

This is where I come in.
I specialise in supporting female athletes who want to reach the top end of their sport - athletes who are ambitious, dedicated, and determined to unlock their full potential. My approach combines performance psychology with mental-health-informed practice, helping you build a mindset that is strong, adaptable and emotionally aware.

Navigating Transitions in Sport
Transitions are some of the most psychologically demanding moments in an athlete’s journey. Whether you’re stepping up from academy to senior level, returning after injury, entering a new training environment, or progressing to national or elite competition, each transition naturally brings uncertainty, self-doubt, and emotional intensity.

Together, we can work on:
-
Managing performance pressure when expectations rise
-
Strengthening confidence and self-belief when moving up a level
-
Maintaining identity and balance when your sport becomes more demanding
-
Developing resilience to handle new environments, coaches, and team dynamics
-
Adapting to change with clarity, focus, and emotional control
My goal is to help you feel equipped, supported, and mentally ready for what comes next. I help you develop a mindset that grows with your performance level, so you feel prepared, not overwhelmed by the progression.
Mental Health & Emotion Regulation

Before specialising in sport psychology, I spent 9 years delivering psychological interventions in mental health and public health settings, working under some of the UK’s most experienced clinical and health psychologists. This foundation shapes the way I support athletes today, giving me a deeper understanding of emotional health, behaviour change, and evidence-based psychological practice.

Many high-achieving female athletes experience perfectionism, comparison, fear of judgement, or the pressure to “hold everything together.” These emotions can be powerful and draining. My clinical background allows me to recognise these patterns early and provide tools that genuinely help.

When working with me, you’ll learn how to:
-
Regulate emotions under pressure
-
Manage anxiety and overthinking
-
Cope better with mistakes and setbacks
-
Build a stronger sense of identity beyond results
My aim is to help you navigate the emotional demands of high-level sport with confidence and clarity. By combining performance psychology with clinically informed techniques, you develop a mindset that is resilient, healthy and balanced.
If you’re committed to your sport and ready to strengthen your mindset, I’d love to support you.
You deserve a place where your ambitions, emotions, and wellbeing are understood.
